  1. Could’ve been Hindus wishing them luck, maybe be a bit less discriminatory next time /s

  2. *How* is that not hate crime? Do you need to have a funny mustache and speak in a German accent while doing it for it to be a hate crime or what?

  3. Unless it was in the form of a Diwali greeting card I don’t see how it’s not hateful.

  4. Just dont be cranky if people who benefit the country leave and the ones the police were afraid of offending cause chaos

  5. The title is intentionally misleading, police have labeled it a ‘hate incident’, but it is not a ‘hate crime’ because sending someome an image isn’t in of itself a crime.

To be classified as a hate crime it needs to be a regular crime, that was motivated by hatred for a protected characteristic.

  6. So, are the Saudis or something putting pressure on these governments to just let this continue? I can’t for the life of me fathom how this is tolerated? There was another post about how the UK police just told Jews and lgbt folks to just avoid Arab areas. Like, what?!?! If Arabs were to go into a gay neighborhood and be attacked, would it just be “oh well you shouldn’t have gone there?”

  7. Cool. Then caving in the head of the person who did this once found is a non-violent crime.

  8. They made the Malicious Communications Act to police people posting on twitter.

You think they give a crap about actual hate crimes?

That would require them to do some actual work instead of showing up to your door to cart you off for posting a pepe meme.

The UK police are a joke and selectivly authoritarian.

  9. I think the UK government has completely lost it . Not only on this occasion either. And I mean completely.

  10. That’s a hate crime against penmanship, art, Jews, students, bricklayers, and society in general.

If you’re going to do it, don’t cut that many corners. Damn. Makes you wonder…

  11. Believe Jewish people when they tell you something is antisemitic.

  12. Read the article

There is no denial that sending it is anti-Semitic – it’s whether it reaches a criminal level.

The police determined it did not

So they did not arrest the individual

    That’s all

  13. Apparently these guys had an anti-semitism license.

  14. It would seem that the UK is very selective with their “hate speech” laws.
