  1. Biden should just have thrown the election out of the window.

  2. Trump or Musk?

Elon couldn’t run for president because he was not born in the U.S., but instead, he brought it for someone else.

Now, Trump isn’t in very good shape; he’s in cognitive decline and is almost 80. What we’re going to see is Elon Musk everywhere

  3. Europe needs to stop acting the victim and start building their own future, the truth is we don’t need the USA.

  4. Alternatively: Accept the US is compromised and cut off any dependence we have to them. It’d be hard to do so, but letting him wreck our continent by us being dependent on the whims of their country will be even harsher on us.

  5. If there is one thing I hope for during the second Trump presidency, then it is that the news cycle won’t be filled with hot takes and news about Trump *constantly*.

  6. ***TLDR***

European leaders brace for Trump’s potential return to power with a mix of pragmatism and unease. Publicly, they pledge calm and cooperation, but concerns over NATO’s future and Europe’s reliance on U.S. military support remain behind closed doors. Trump’s scepticism of alliances and populist influence has sparked urgent discussions about bolstering European defence and autonomy. Meanwhile, his presidency could embolden far-right movements across the continent as fears of democratic erosion mount. Leaders prepare for turbulence, knowing they must engage with Trump while navigating public disdain and strategic uncertainty.

  7. Meanwhile the EU has been buying russian gas and oil this entire war.

Tell us more of big bad orange man.

Trump lowering gas prices in the usa will do more harm to russia than anything else.

  8. “We’re just going to have to deal with him”

Yes, that’s how confronting a situation instead of kicking the can further down the road while hoping someone else fixes it works. I know it’s a novel idea, but just try it.

  9. >Ischinger also welcomed the realism that has shaped Europe’s response so far to Trump’s reelection. “We’re just going to have to deal with him—we’re prepared to deal with him.”

What a nothing burger. What the other choice? Not deal with USA? Yeah right. Sure. Of course we’re just going to have to deal with him.

  10. We should simply try it without listening to the US for four years or longer if he establishes his kingdom.

  11. I love how when Russia literally invaded Ukraine in 2014, Europeans were defending relationships with Putin and gas projects with Gasprom, but when the US – its closest and strongest outside ally – elects one guy they don’t like, suddenly everyone here is screeching to become independent from the US and act as if the US is about to invade Europe. The double standards are ridiculous

  12. I wonder why it takes so long for European politicians to realize that the combined United States and Europe is the world’s most powerful trading bloc. Even Trump knows this.

  13. Europe is doomed to collapse because of these idiots and people’s nostalgic mentality.

  14. Either this is Reddit rabbit hole bait or does Europe really rely on the US that much? I have seen so much despair news from countries other than the US regarding Trump. Why do they care so much? Shouldn’t the EU be strong enough to care for themselves?

  15. Welp, at least Trump may collapse China. So that’s a W I guess.
