The Moldovan broadcaster TRM has launched Selecția Națională 2025, the nation’s selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025.

The rules of the Moldovan selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 have been released this evening. Selecția Națională 2025 song submissions are open from today until December 27 at 17:00 local time, after which point the songs will be reviewed between December 28 and January 15.

All of the entries that meet the selections rules will be invited to live auditions that will be held between January 15 and February 5. From the live auditions a jury will select ten acts to go through to the final of Selecția Națională 2025. The auditions as ever will be broadcast live with the results announced live at the end of the auditions.

The final of the Moldovan selection will be held on a date between February 20 and 28. In the final of Selecția Națională 2025, the winner will be determined by 50% televoting and 50% jury voting.

Natalia Barbu performed “In The Middle” in Semi-Final One of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. Moldova placed 13th in the Semi-Final scoring 20 points.

Moldova debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 when the contest was held in Kyiv, Ukraine. That year, Bulgaria also debuted in the contest and Hungary returned after a long absence since 1998. Moldova’s best result in the contest to date was 3rd place in 2017 for Sunstroke Project with “Hey Mamma!”. This was the second time the group had represented their country in Eurovision.
