I made a map to visually explore the rental market in switzerland per town/city or canton, I’d love some feedback and for you to check it out.

  1. I’ll still have to tweak it a bit, the zoom was annoying and I’ll include more data soon.
Right now it is slightly misleading because it’s all rental/sales data. And that includes Garages, Offices, and not just apartments.
I’ll add a filter this week.
If you’d like to check it out, it’s on [foxai.ch](https://foxai.ch/) and I’ll be very grateful for any feedback or questions! Thank you!

  2. Something is a bit odd. Some villages, which I know are very poor, have very high median rent
    Corippo 8120.-
    Dongio 4885.-
    Ludiano 3465.-

  3. A field to enter a postcode yourself would be nice. You could also display the data in more different ways, eg make comparisons between 1-n post codes for multiple variables possible, including graphs etc.

Then there are some issues you probably know about: map zoom, no data at some points, wrong unit when looking at number of sales. Also data source is missing, which is quite crucial in my opinion.

I could see such a tool being used in early stages of property hunting, to quickly assess median price levels in a certain region.

  5. Great map, but i would suggest showing the lakes. That would make it much easier to find your Gemeinde/commune quickly.

  6. What is your source? It doesn’t seem nearly correct what I can understand because it is actually not registered anywhere what rents people pay. Just the currently advertised flats?

  7. Data quality is something you have to work on, right now they don’t make sense.

  8. I am not sure how accurate that is. As a person living in Baselland and having friends trying to find apartments in Basel. I cannot believe that there are areas in the countryside that are more expensive than in Basel.
