Harris doesn’t strike me as the leader of a country tbh
Give me an odd vibe
Coveney should get it imo
McEntee would get my support, no other reason than I worked with a Simon Harris and he annoyed the shit out of everyone including the boss but didn’t go far enough to get fired. A couple of customers did slap him though.
Harris should get it. He can finish off the job of killing FG
FG’s democratic structure is very weird.
That a candidate can comfortably win the majority of party members support but lose out because the TDs and Senators want someone else is ridiculous.

They’ll push for McEntee because they don’t want SF to have the first female Taoiseach.
Can’t say I would find the idea of McEntee or Harris as Taoiseach comforting…they’re out of their depth in my view.
Leo was the youngest Taoiseach at 38. The other two are 35 so looking at next election they’d be 38 too. I’d rather someone with a bit of real world experience. Give me Paschal over any of those two.
Doesn’t matter, they all have worms for brains
We just can’t have a reality where Simon Harris is head of the country can we? As much as I don’t like fG Coveney is the only one I could see leading that party.
The most useless Minister for Justice, during a time when Dublin City has some of the worst and most violent crime that we’ve ever seen, especially against women, and not so much of a fucking sound out of her. She wants to extend the protections for the little scumbags until 25 no less.
Only got the job cause her dad was a FG man. I’m sick to death of this inherited political elite class.
Typical Irish, falling upwards.
Fuck them out.
It’s Monday morning. It’s raining. And there’s a war in Europe. Just when you think life couldn’t get more depressing, you see this article. Really not sure whether to laugh or cry. 😂
You could always tell McEntee was being shaped for leadership of FG; she is thick as thieves with Leo. Has been given ministerial posts with relative ease and is part of the nepotism that has long diminished Irish politics.
Until FG actually start listening and responding to young people’s cries for help, they won’t unwed themselves from the perception that they only look after the interests of the older generations. No matter how young their shitebox leader is.
From McEntee’s constituency here, she genuinely is a very poor candidate in my view and has never done anything of note either as a minister or for our constituency since first getting elected nearly a decade ago. Meath is stagnating in terms of any development and despite being a commuter county, McEntee has never made any push to improve public transport in the county as having two tolls within a half hour on the M3 is the big money spinner for the county rather than putting any effort towards getting a rail line out to Navan. Sure she has publicly supported an idea to get people on her side but as someone who is in a position to do something about it, she has done absolutely nothing towards achieving it.
Even as someone who has no affiliation towards FG I have personally always thought that the Taoiseach role came too soon for Varadkar and if either of these were to become Taoiseach it would definitely come way too soon for both, even if I’m not sure they’d ever be capable for the role at all (Harris in particular strikes me as someone who is too detached from reality to ever be a leader and only lives and knows what goes on in his own bubble). Coveney to me actually seems to be the best of a bad bunch in terms of who’s being mooted for the FG leadership instead of Varadkar, he’s the only one that seems capable of showing any leadership skills at all.
EDIT: she has actually never publicly supported a rail line, just posted a survey before the last election to see if people are in favour despite locals crying out for it for years.
Don’t mind Harris, but not for a leadership position. Not sure how McEntee is qualified at all for the post. I’d find it difficult to vote for the party with either at the helm. Coveney seems like a strong leader, seems quite competent whenever he’s doorstepped on the news. At this stage I have no idea who I’d vote for if an election next week.
Couldn’t be any worse then Varadkar.
Harris becoming leader would surely be the final nail in the coffin for FG
Mind boggling. Coveney seems capable, although maybe it only seems that way as he gets less coverage.
Harris 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 what a load of nonsense that article is
What would a Taoiseach of under-the-bus be useful for?
Can’t imagine him performing a menial task or being trusted with a whole tenner.
Goodmans puppet
It’s all a scheme to ensure the electorate reject them and they won’t have to deal with the fall out of the current situation for a long time.
Ah no not Harris!
I thought McEntee was Varadkar shadow or PA for a long time she goes around with him so much.
