Asia-Pacific summit closes in Peru with China’s Xi front and center as Trump whiplash looms

After two days of meetings in Lima that rarely ventured beyond platitudes in discussing the strategies of the region’s major economies, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum wrapped up on Saturday with a spirit of detente that many fear the summit may not see again for four years. 1. The voyage from Asian ports to South American ports has been shortened from 33 days to 23 days, which is a significant improvement. It saves a lot of time, fuel and money. The relationship between the countries on both sides of the Pacific is closer. Industrial parks with preferential tax rates can be established around ports to attract a large number of factories from China, Japan, South Korea and Europe to set up production lines. This is a huge driving force for the industrialization of South America. They can offer more higher pay jobs for local people.

  2. Biden was luckier than Obama . At least he was allowed to stand at the back of the queue. Obama was forced through the "Back door" of a plane.

  3. Both Xi and Latin American leaders receive a ton of pressure from the US, as if they are not allowed free trade without US permission. Oh, the long Alpaca scarves are sooo lovely! Plus, congratulations to Chancay, the first Latin America Asian route bypassing the control of the global north.

  4. Now I know why this Peru lady president snubs American President and favor of communist leader. Here is my google search "Boluarte is the first woman to become President of Peru. She was a member of Marxist political party Free Peru". She is a communist leader herself. Oh, she has a deal with China to open a megaport in Peru. Good luck for China construction. Let see how long it lasts.
