We are getting duel citizenship with Italy
Make sure you learn german if moving to France.
I am leaving, but not because of Donald Trump, that would be ridiculous.
Why is it called "immigration" when people come to the United States but "expatriation" when people leave the United States 😂🤣
I’m leaving on January 19, 2025.
I left in the 80s, during the Reagan years. I've been in France since the mid-90s. No way I'd ever move back. I don't even like to visit. Americans do not know how to live.
so, the u.s citizens who can afford to move to a foreign country are just going to abandon the u.s and the poor? well guess what, their not helping the poor was where the problem started; and, good luck to them because no one is going to escape the u.s collapse. and as they say you run away, but there you are. roll up your selves for god's sake
My family has been discussing this for a long while…since the first Trump presidency. Recognizing that the U.S. electorate actually elected Trump and my head is spinning. I am definitely closer to pulling the trigger to move to Europe.
I encourage taking companies and people investing and moving away from ULTRA RIGHT WING EXTREMISTS (URWE). Don't produce jobs in places like KY, FL, etc. AND, no more latino URWE phony christian nutjobs – NO MORE LATINOS!!
no more latino URWE phony christian nutjobs – NO MORE LATINOS!!
France better hope that Cameltoe voters don't migrate to France. It'll be the nail in the coffin for your country to finish off the damage the middle eastern and African migrants have done.
There are many Americans thinking about leaving the US. We are watching to see what a Trump government will do this time around and also watching to see what he does to social security. If there is no social security many people will have to continue to work and will not be able to retire so will not be able to move.
Canada is too expensive now and cold, Mexico is not safe, France doesn't want ex pats. American's are looking to places like Portugal that are cheap enough and safe with good healthcare.
If you are thinking of moving to Europe, think about cities that aren’t capitals or main cities. Rural areas actually need revitalization (new people moving in), bringing business. Most rural areas in Europe are the same as the big cities without the hyper expensive lifestyle
Many women, if able, should flee America if possible befoe childless car ladies are arrested.
As a black american, we adorr français. We have a VERY SHARED passion for music and dance that makes visiting here amazing. Also their spirit of protesting for their rights is alignment.
The well-off and well-connected have these options. Those without means are the most vulnerable to the coming administration, and the least likely to be able to escape. We're here for the duration, and will be doing the hard work of survival and resistance.
Please world don’t hate all Americans. Descent ones tried so hard to prevent this but it didn’t work 😢
Everyone who told me they would move if trump was elected… I now hear nothing from them.
Data scientist here. My wife is a doctor. We want to move to Spain. A lot of our professional friends feel the same way. There are no words for how disgusted I am with right-wing politics here.
I was prepping for this. I moved to Spain this year.
I’m getting out ✌️ And I’m helping my extended family get out too. It’s about to get horrific in the US.
I'm not going anywhere. -Nigerian-American woman
If more people had money that would be out of here tomorrow. People just want to live in peace, have a good job, a nice house, a car, free child care, free college, safe schools and no political drama. None of which the US provides without constant struggle. The cost of living is crushing hard working Americans and the hate is unnecessary. People in the US are so ignorant when it comes to how to treat other people and it’s exhausting living like this all the time.
I wonder if any country would consider accepting Americans as political asylum seekers after Tr–p's election?
Easy to think about, difficult to do. Other countries want your wealth but not your luggage. Americans are opinionated, rigid, and violent. They must be taught how to live normally and that is sometimes impossible.
I got excited recently to learn that the Czech Republic may grant citizenship to those with a Czech parent or grandparent (if they can provide all the documentation). I had two Czech grandparents! Woo hoo! And then I saw the fine print. Your ancestors can't have left before 1918. Shoot, my grandparents got out just before that war. 😭
The ex-pat boom is from American men fleeing the feminazi leftist women not Trump!
Philippines or Thailand for me. Just got back from another 3 week holiday there.
I have a 67 page ebook I wrote for US citizens seeking asylum in Canada. It’s a step by step instruction manual outlining everything you need to do and need to know. I don’t know where to post it so if anyone is interested hmu and I’ll email it to you for free.
I just bought my house in rural France and will be relocating there from Texas over the next few years. If I could move sooner I would. Buh-bye, USA.
Spain is better than France.
Definitely on our mind. We’re in a wait and see approach. Thankfully we are able to afford it. One of my daughters has already left and is now choosing to stay abroad.
Not expats – migrants like everyone else. Maybe they won’t be welcome.
I’m looking outside of Paris and the cities in the south where it is quiet…and I can start over once I figure out my strategy to leave…Trump is going to overturn our country.
Europe is a dumpster fire I am from there and will take my chances with Trump
Both my neighbours either side are Americans that left in 2016 no regrets at all from them. If you can do it then do it would be their advice. Their lives are exponentially better here
