Germany should also re-assess its energy policies.
He is right.It should at least act responsible in terms of it role in the EU and global stage and have a military in line with its economic and political power.
If only he would be as sensible in his fiscal policy when it comes to other important areas of spending…
Germany should spend all its many in welcoming more refugees than spending on army like this
These politicians have lost their mind. This is just blind action for action’s sake without any thought. Germany already has a pretty high military budget, which unfortunately doesn’t get much results because so much is lost to the admnistrative body, consulting firms, etc.. Throwing more money down the drain seems like a really bad idea. Also NATOs military budget already way outstrips Russia’s and in the current situation it would make pretty much no difference anyways, since we already can’t engage out of fead of causing WW3.
Just frustrating to see how over night there is 100 billion for this bullshit, when it took months of back and forth to decide on a 60 billion energy bill. Could’ve doubled that and still have 40 billion left to invest into education, healthcare, etc., where the money is in dire need.

I am in agreement with the U-turn in German politics but am equally fascinated with the thought that if you want right-wing politics vote in a left of center government.

I think it’s all about new technology.
In army soldiers get killed when war happens, soldiers needs to be replaced with robots.
And all neighbor should have robots and spare.
Then it’s easier to support other countries like Ukraine now.

He must be delusional. The Bundeswehr has been purposefully castrated while sinking ridiculous amounts of money on the wrong things to pacify the faux-“nie wieder” crowd thats been fashionable for the last 30years.
Not to mention dropping the recruiting standards and sub-par training. He should hang his head in shame if he trully said that.
And it needs to be at war-speed before the next US election.
