This is why we need a better government. People in the UK who are calling for the Russians to overthrow Putin as a way out of the current situation in Ukraine, must see the *irony* in the UK government being in thrall to Russian money to the extent that they are. As it stands, I would vote for a party who would end this, and also do something about battling Russian social-media influence in our country. It’s not ‘freedom of speech’, it’s the propaganda of a deluded fantasist. What really needs to be questioned is how our education system remains so poor that many kids come out of 12 years of education unable to think in a critical way about this stuff.
This was fucking obvious from the start. Well done to everyone who ignored it because they just loved Boris so fucking much, you absolute divs, well done, you willingly voted for Russian meddling in UK politics, but hey iF iT WeRe CorByN iT WoUlD bE WorSe!
I wrote this letter to my MP last week
Dear Rebecca
In light of the terrible Russian invasion of Ukraine, would you agree that the Conservative Party should do the right thing and donate all the money given by the Russian supporters of your party (most of whom were closely linked to the Putin regime) to help with the humanitarian relief of civilians in Ukraine.
It would indeed be a fantastic and well received gesture and would go some way in cleaning your party from questionable donations from those Russians who may have their names on the Council register but aren’t residents of the UK for tax purposes.
I look forward to hearing from you.

I wrote a few years ago that voting for conservatives always leads to personal regret eventually, at least in most moral people.
Now they’re trying to play the patriotic card to distract from the crimes they have been committing with Russia all these years. Even after the invasion of Ukraine, they have given notice to Russia of impending sanctions, allowing the oligarchs to retrieve their bloody-lucre.
The Conservative Party is a party rife with traitors and voted in by the greed-giddiest of this country.
