Feller credits his success to fine-tuning his equipment and steadily improving his skiing technique over the years, which has helped him achieve greater stability.
At 32, the Austrian seems to have finally overcome the back issues that plagued him for years: “I’m feeling younger than ten years ago,” he said. “My body is, yeah, in the best shape ever. Looking back, I had so many years where I’d get out of bed and think, ‘Oh my God, I have to go skiing.’ Now I get up and say, ‘Oh, I can go skiing. And skiing is fun. I can work on my progress every day.’”
This newfound balance is also the result of a smarter and more efficient approach to training: “I think now I’ve found a routine. I know what to do to keep my body at this level. It’s more about optimum, not maximum,” Feller explained, highlighting how he spreads his workload throughout the year, focusing on physical fitness in the summer while reducing time on snow during the season.
