1. I for one am very excited for the conservatives who are always reminding me how much worse women have it overseas to watch this and enthusiastically explain the nuances to me since they are so passionate about the plight of these women.

   Stunning and brave.

   I support the cause of this documentary, it’s just a brain-dead quote and the context didn’t make it much clearer. Also her production company is called “Stunning Cadaver” which is both ironically appropriate, and shockingly inappropriate.

4. Just saw a video claiming its colonialist for white women to come in and try to make demands and Afghani women need to be allowed to move their own movement. Like they’re literally not allowed to speak in public or they’ll be institutionalized, how are they supposed to self advocate out of that??

I feel bad for anybody trapped in a repressive regime but what are we supposed to do about it?  Start another war?  We could crush them with sanctions, but all that seems to accomplish is punishing peasants with even more poverty while the same people stay in charge.  I am fascinated by other cultures but rarely watch documentaries like this.  It’s a depressing waste of time.
