Ireland to fund provision of non-lethal equipment to Ukrainian military

  1. Kiev is actually encircled now (according to the mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko). So whatever the European community did to help was too little too late.

Putin is laughing at the bullshit weak sanctions. A European/US coalition should have been formed to properly support Ukraine.

As the Ukrainian president said: “I need ammo, not a ride”.

Military action is needed to support Ukraine. Not useless virtue-signalling like shining blue and yellow lights on buildings and banning Russia from the Eurovision song contest.

  2. Proud of Ireland here tbh. The knuckle dragging FG’ers here obviously wanted us to get involved in the war

  3. About 25 years ago, I’d just done the leaving and had a miserable summer job back in Rosaveel. The ould lad (god rest him) had a carpentry gig nearby, and this one fine day, we decided to have lunch together on the pier in Rosaveel. As we were tucking into the sandwiches, we see one of the LEs, probably Ashling, steam past us going in.

Now bear in mind, the ould fella had lived in the states for years, we’d been on the JFK aircraft carrier in Boston during a port call and what not.

Himself sez: “ah ya, the Irish Navy, the only navy in the world that comes in for lunch”
