I found this today, on Praia do Barril (near Tavira). Is it an ancient Portuguese sardine tin? Does anyone recognise the markings visible on the tin, beneath the crustaceans?

The size doesn’t look quite right for it to be a sardine tin.
I think it’s Ramirez tuna fish.
It looks more something from “Atum General”. Check the font of the letter “A”: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-5JwgXAPBG08/T_Wfb2YINbI/AAAAAAAACbU/PXxxuH549xg/s1600/DSC09144.JPG

I did not know that they come already canned!
Been there. Great place.
Atum General. Definitely. Old cans were yellow with brand in white and blue. That exact letter font.

Kinda looks like a final boss in case Resident Evil ever happens in Portugal.
