  1. That’s just fucking black mirror crazy. What a world we live in.

  2. According to the telegram channel that published this video, it was not possible to accept and effectuate a surrender.

The channel does not say why. But it’s likely because this FPV drone did not have enough battery to bring him back, and they didn’t have another drone near him to take over.

  3. All alone in the middle of nowhere, unarmed, your life in the hands of a small flying machine.

  4. Bro would’ve been alive if he was just chilling in Russia.

  5. I understand why it happened and it brings me back to a scene in Saving Private Ryan.

A pivotal moment arises from the squad’s earlier decision to release a captured German soldier, “Steamboat Willie,” instead of killing him. Later, during a climactic battle, Private Mellish is overpowered and killed in a brutal knife fight, while Upham, paralyzed by fear, fails to intervene. It’s revealed that “Steamboat Willie” has rejoined the German forces, indirectly contributing to Mellish’s death and others, including Captain Miller. The scene underscores the tragic consequences of moral decisions in war, where acts of mercy can lead to devastating outcomes.

  6. Na. He’s clearly scared, unarmed, and surrendering.
You can’t just execute someone who has surrendered because it’s inconvenient.

  7. Hundreds of thousands down the drain by a $200 drone. Math says a good deal. Moral sense… cloudy.

  8. Icl this is just sad to watch, but it is what it is I guess

  9. Considering how many Ukrainian POWs have been recently executed, I am not surprised here, to quote Neitzsche, “He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you”.

  10. He cant surrender because of the situation, I can understand that, so killing him was the only acceptable option for the Ukranians. But toying with him is a bit fucked. Thats the bit I cant agree with, if the drone just came in at speed and took him out without a second thought it would be acceptable.

Making him scream and beg before blowing him up, just isnt a good look at all. No matter what side you are on.

  11. why do these drone assholes always do this? its so sadistic. just put the guy out of his misery and get it over and done with. if they had to actually go out into the field theyd have a different attitude but theyre sitting behind their computer and there is a dissociation where it suddenly feels like hes just trolling someone on an online videogame.

  12. Seems like the drone operator is just toying with him? Jesus.

  13. I don’t care if it’s a war crime or not

Watching someone isolated, hands up, begging for their life and be killed is horrific

Fuck Putin and the Russian government for setting the stage for this tragedy

  14. This god awful war needs to end. Negotiate something, nobody is going to win. Both sides are just sending young people to their graves. Absolutely senseless.

  15. Yeah that’s definitely a war crime. I can understand not being able to take prisoners when you’re clearing a trench network but sweet Jesus the dude flying that drone is one callous son of a bitch. Ukraine’s defence is morally justified but this action certainly wasn’t.

Don’t play with your food for fuck sakes.
