The US has a much higher stake in Russia’s war on Ukraine than most people think. As Americans consider the costs of continuing to help Ukraine fight the Russians in the coming years, they deserve a careful consideration of the costs of allowing Russia to win.

Yes, but look at the I coming circus
Russia in the end is gonna lose regardless over the next couple of years if not a decade or so it’s most likely that Russia is going to collapse for the 3rd time in its history. Things for Russia in the coming years are not looking good the damage has already been done even the Russian ruble has completely lost its value Russia as we know it is done.
People still botheri with ISW?
it russia takes ukraine, the price of bread would be most immediate effect felt.
US has pitched in, helped degrade Russia, and bought time for the Europeans to tool up their MIC. With their population and money they should be able to take the lead at this point, shouldn’t they?
Yes!! Exactly right. This quote is the beginning of a two-part series from the Institute of the Study of War called “The High Price of Losing Ukraine.” I read the articles when they came out in December of last year, and I bookmarked them and shared them in internet comments several times. These articles are required reading for anyone who cares about Ukraine but also for anyone who doesn’t understand why helping Ukraine is so important. (Sadly, those people will probably not bother reading this. 😅)

Be sure to read both parts. Part 2 is the one that really stuck with me and scared me the most.
The issue is that everyone wants results RIGHT NOW.
This makes too much sense for the average American , you need to speak stupid to connect with them
So many Americans buy into Trump’s view that we should be xenophobic assholes and pray we can return to the 1950’s when America was great when all of these people are so ignorant of US history that it’s laughable, or tragic, because it’s both. Point is, most of these morons would agree to hand Ukraine to Putin because they think we are wasting money in a cause that doesn’t matter. Trump is hated by the US military’s senior commanders so expect the aid to continue to flow, but in what amounts is hard to say.
A Ukrainian defeat will cause catastrophic economic hardship on countries all over Europe and America. People just have no idea.
USA will have got the rights for the rebuild , thats billions of dollars worth of business and a good deal on future exports grain etc just a guess.
