  1. I went to bed last night letting the wind and rain lull me to sleep, it was lovely.

I woke up at 4 am to my partner just coming to bed, my alarm was set for 05.30. I did manage to drift off again, then lay in bed a bit too long when it went off listening to more wind and rain.

The drive to work was fine, I’m here until 12.00 then I’m off for 4 days. I’m trying to dodge the overtime shift that hasn’t been covered yet.

When I get home we’re taking a perfectly good mattress to the tip because no one wants it, not even the less than picky local charity. After that we’re getting some bits from the shop and going home to chill.

We do need to walk the dog, but if the wind stays like this I think it’s a no go again.

I was really surprised by how warm it was at 06.00 this morning, like a spring/summer morning.

  2. We’re buying our first home next week so we have lots of packing and cleaning to do today on top of all the stressing of hoping it goes smoothly

  3. Really hoping to try and finish up redecorating the hallway today. It’s taking foreverrrrrrrr.

It looks insane but I love it.

  4. Roast at the in-laws and low key hoping the wind blows my neighbours out of control bay tree down.

  5. Up to walk the dog in a bit. Then little else except ironing!

  6. I seem to go through this weird thing every Sunday where I have a list of things I need to do in my head, forget half the things and just sort of bumble around aimlessly

  7. Weather is shite so no plans other than chilling on the sofa. Might watch Dune and Dune 2 now the latter is out on streaming.

Customary weekend [coffee and croissant](https://ibb.co/3Ymnqkk) with the dog.

Edit: anyone know if there’s way to get rid of the ‘Top x% Commenter’ flair? Not really into advertising how chronically online I am lol

  8. Building a bed before driving to work…300 miles of wind and rain…yay!?!?

  9. Attempting a run before loading the car and visiting the in laws with a car full of stuff we seem to of accumulated from them over 2024.

  10. The cats have managed to successfully keep me awake since 2am with the highlight being a hissy slapdown around 2.30am. It is cute that I can sweettalk them to sleep- for about 30 mins before they jump on my head again, I guess. Anyway, woke up with a hangover having not drunk any alcohol, opened the window and my headache immediately disappeared. With such a great start to my day I know it’s just going to get better.

  11. Trying to finish the two puzzles I’ve got on the go(they’re from a box where all the pieces were mixed together) and listening out for our next door neighbour who is a dick, to wake up and realise half his garden fence has gone over in the night

  12. The £70 we saved renewing the car insurance yesterday morning was spent on a new shower screen after our current ones fixings snapped yesterday afternoon.
The in laws are coming over and we’re going out for a Sunday dinner followed by the local light switch on. There was an outdoor market but it’s all been scaled back due to the weather.

  13. My shortest has had their rugby training cancelled but the taller still has theirs on. So early start in a field followed by hot chocolate (adults with rum) and taking the new puppy out every hour to toilet train. Thanks to the new addition have lots to catch up on with work and house stuff.

  14. Leg session in the gym done, put a massive fan on too as the damp seems to have crept in from the mad temperature fluctuations.

Getting the Christmas decos out today to keep the 8 year old happy (she’s been asking for the last fortnight!)
Meal prep to take me up to Thursday to make sure I don’t become a snacking lardy-arse again.

  15. I’m going out to help my husband bed up our baby bulls (always fun) in the shed, and I’m on doggy-watch for the rest of the day. Our youngest dog had surgery recently and we’re still in the ‘keep an eye on her’ stage. I did start building a big Lego set yesterday when the power was off, so I’ll probably continue with that.

  16. Off to get my knee x-rayed this morning. Its been dodgy since May. Seen 2 physios, first said its arthritis, do these exercises and if it doesn’t improve come back. Didnt improve, went back and saw a different physio. This one thinks its not arthritis, but wants an x-ray to check. Need to groom the dog once thats done, then make sunday dinner.

  17. I took quite a strong sleeping tablet about 2am, so I’ve woken up as normal at 7am but every object feels like an exact copy of itself and my husband feels like an exact copy of himself. Also it feels a bit like I’m moving in bullet time but more through golden syrup.

  18. Morning all, hope you’re well.

I should be going out to pick up leaflets for delivery, dropping some stuff at the charity shop on the way, and then going to the supermarket (which I should have done yesterday but the weather was so bad I just didn’t want to leave the house unless absolutely necessary). What I’d much rather do is stay at home and finish my sewing project and catch up on rubbish telly.

I do have pub quiz this evening with friends, so I will be going out at some point, but right now I just CBA to do anything that involves going further than my living room. But we’ll get there I suppose.

    Have a good day everyone!

  19. Went to see British bake off final last night it’s been killing me not to talk to people about who won until it’s airs on Tuesday!

  20. Been awake since 4.30. Went to feed my mum’s cat, and the wind kept catching the hood on my coat and pushing me along, like a sail. I might go back to bed for a bit before I go up to the hospital. The wind is making my cat behave like a twat, so I’m at his mercy until it settles down.

  21. Fitting 11mm to 20mm scope rail adapter to my carbine then sorting out the scope.
Then if I’ll finish a knife sheath I’ve been putting off for weeks whilst worrying about whether my car will get fixed tomorrow and how much it will cost.

The background music will be whatever footie the elderly mother in law wants to watch

  22. Going to put the fire on and cook up an amazing curry with the spices we brought back from Sri Lanka last month!!

  23. Just got up which is lovely. Chilling until this afternoon when my brother is coming over with his new girlfriend. I’ve not met her yet so feeling a bit nervous!

  24. Running a 10mile race… suspect it’s going to be tough

  25. About to terrorise the roads on my driving lesson by going 10 under the speed limit on every road to account for the wind and rain . My driving instructor will insist it’s the right call and assume I’m doing it out of my devotion for the Highway Code when in reality I just take a sick sort of satisfaction in looking out my rearview mirror and seeing nothing but the grill of a BMW a metre or so behind me

  26. Had to locate the fuse box for the first time since moving in (in 2021) but I found it!

No plans but I’m feeling a bit stir crazy since I ended up with Friday off after I landed myself in A&E and haven’t been out since then other than to the shop, so it feels like Monday now and my brain is telling me I need to go to work. Have a very visible facial injury though so don’t want to go where there’s too many people (thank you, bloke who felt the need to comment on my black eye when I went to the shop yesterday).

Might spend the day planning a better excuse for why my face is fucked up than the truth – stacked it after a few too many white wines and my glasses broke and stabbed me in the eyebrow – answers on a postcard!

  27. Spreadsheets in readiness for a beer festival- I’m on the committee- next week, PT session later and unexpectedly needing to get some groceries because Tesco has cancelled our delivery order.

Oh and doing all the above with a lack of sleep so I will be fuelled by caffeine.

I appreciate this is not especially interesting.

  28. The in-laws came over yesterday with some furniture they no longer wanted. So today is going to be spent putting it where we want and not where they do.

  29. I made pancakes for breakfast and taking the boys swimming now. Later, we’ll be putting together our first Warhammer 40k set! Super excited!

  30. Lazing around, cleaning and knitting.

Hopefully win in the rugby but I’m a bit wary of it.

  31. Another day of sweet fuck all. Which is fine because the waking anxiety kicked in again this morning (perimenopause can do one now, it’s fucking annoying). The river is still rising and high tide was 8 hours ago with the next one due in 4½ hours. So although any flooding won’t physically affect me or the flat, it may cut off parts of my road if it gets any higher. There’s a small tributary river running through the park that has been known to spill over onto the road from the park and back up through the road drains.

  32. Just watched the Grand Prix. Currently having breakfast and catching up with the news. Then I’m firing up my new PC, loading up the flight simulator, and flying a virtual 737 from Birmingham to Palma. I’m turning on live weather to make it more interesting. No doubt the cat will be the First Officer.

  33. Sprained my ankle whilst bouldering last Sunday and I desperately want to get back to it but I know I need to give myself time to properly heal. My partner is going with our usual group this morning so got mega FOMO but it gives me a solid chance to commandeer the Xbox while he’s out so going to chill out and play Spyro Reignited. Doctor’s orders, right?

  34. Slogging through studying for a info security exam. It’s so DRY

  35. Sure is windy out there today.

I’m going to the shops today to do some Christmas shopping – I’m off to visit family next weekend, and will be taking their gifts at the same time.
