I am from Argaki of Morfou, a wonderful village that has always blossomed into orange trees.

​

Due to the nature of my job (I am a writer and a poet) I tend to do hours of research online. Is there any video of a modern “touring” of the village? Is there anything like that for Argaki?

Also, are there any of you from there actually? Or even your parents? (Like in my case).

  2. Are you familiar with Peter Loizos’s books? English-Cypriot, his father was from Argaki, he’s written a number of books about people from Argaki, from an anthropological perspective.

  3. My mother is from Argaki we’ve never been there (she from the time she left as a refugee). Her family had great fruit tree fields and was very disappointed when she learned from my aunt that the invaders cut them down to plant barley.

    Akçay is the Turkish name and this is one of the first results when you look for “akcay kktc” in youtube. I was first unsure but somewhere in the middle you see them making halloumi and at the end you see the TRNC flag so it must be Cyprus. It isn’t exactly modern, but still something you are looking for I suppose. Try with more combinations “akcay kibris”, “akcay TRNC”, etc.

    Also if you don’t find, may be you can suggest somebody make a video about the village. The most known drone photographer in the North is Ali Yilmaz aka Dronebook.
