  1. There was a sense of urgency four years ago and that whole administration sat on its fucking hands the entire time. Looking at you, Merrick Garland.

  2. That sense of urgency should’ve applied to the election itself.

  3. A man said to the Democrats:

    “Sir! It’s urgent!”

    “However,” replied the Democrats

“That fact has not created in me
    A sense of obligation”

I post this as a life long loyal liberal Democrat

  4. There’s been an urgency for like a decade now. This is like starting to study for an exam in the parking lot 30 minutes before it starts.

  5. It’s a shame we didn’t vote with this same sense of urgency.

  6. He should’ve been urgent this whole time. If Trump was in prison for January 6 he wouldn’t be president elect. Biden was a complete joke.

  7. Is this the same Biden that invited Trump to lunch last week? And these activists expect Biden to do anything? Talk about delusional.

  8. There is only ONE way and only Biden can do it without repercussion (in theory). He won’t and our nation is on a crash course to disaster.

  9. He could have trump proofed by leaving the race last year and allowing a full primary cycle.

  10. If Trump can destroy the Department of Education, the least Biden can do is actually just go ahead and cancel the federal student loans. Make them stop him. Say he’s using his immunity for the good of the country, national security, and the economy. Trump bringing the loans back into full force is going to even further destroy our country’s economic situation. Think cost of living and cost of groceries feels absurd now? Try paying for it with those student loans around your neck again. Our economy is going to be crippled as is a generation of young Americans.

  11. Well I don’t think Biden even has a sense of urgency so we are, in fact, fucked.

  12. I have a bad feeling that like his presidency, Joe is just too damned nice a guy and doesn’t have the sharpened teeth and claws that require this. It will after all be his lasting eternal legacy ‘Hell of a nice guy, decent good man – But the wrong guy when we all needed him most!’

  13. The job of securing democracy belongs to the American people.

If they vore to end it, then it ends.

  14. But late now.

They should have been doing it the moment the supreme court decided that trying to forcefully stop the inauguration of the next president wasn’t unconstitutional.

  15. Yea. Biden has been asleep for the past 4 years. He’s not going to wake up for this.

  16. And do “activists” have a clue how to pull this off? Arresting the Supreme Court wouldn’t work for long, unless there are assassinations involved and that would just make the loss of democracy faster. Any orders Biden makes will just be tossed out, the only thing is to get every possible judicial vacancy filled immediately, and even those won’t prevent trump and the right-wing from just doing whatever they want to. The above mentioned SC gave him the green light to do anything he wants, however blatantly illegal, to end the democratic government of the US.

  17. Fuck it burn it down that’s what the people voted for. Then we can build it back up the way it was supposed to be done. Repeal citizens United, term limits, etc.

  18. “Biden, save us!” Says the people who abandoned him.

  19. Too little too late. Isn’t this typically the lame duck period of the Presidency anyway?

  20. This is the medias agenda till January, act like he ain’t gonna be, “a dictator on day one”. These fucking “articles” are just propaganda to placate…

  21. All that is necessary for the triumph of Evil is for good men to do nothing.

  22. That time was November 5th “activists”. They showed up. We didn’t.

  23. I mean he can’t. All three branches are red so anything he does will be undone. Our main hope is that some moderate R’s hold out on voting for sweeping changes.

  24. 2016 was the chance and it was blown. The democrats should have seen the passion behind Bernie and gone all in on a left wing populist. They should have taken the risk that he couldn’t be tempered like their last populist president.

Instead they fought tooth and nail to maintain the centrist position they so carefully crafted over the past few decades. And then we saw voters (lots of low info voters) vote for change.

Sure there were some knowledgeable people on the right who want racism and fascism and such but many just didn’t want the same old shit and Trump promised them change, just like Bernie promised change, just like Obama promised change. Change fucking wins because people are fed up.

When you’re fed shit every day, someone promising any change at all is a welcome sight. And it didn’t even matter that Biden was delivering some actual change, it didn’t feel authentic or meaningful because people voted with their emotions. And the democrats are smart enough to know that people do this, they saw it in 2008 and 2016, they saw the power of populism. It won the presidency for Obama in his first term but they couldn’t risk getting someone like Bernie who actually meant what he said. So they pushed the party platform to the center and we are all paying for it.

Neoliberalism served us fascism on a platter and Americans gleefully voted for it because they were miserable with the state of things.

  25. How do you Trump proof a man that is not bound by laws.

  26. Why should he? Americans voted to get rough shafting for the next 4 years. It should be undiluted and pure

  27. When was the last time Biden (or the Democratic Party) did anything with a sense of urgency

Hell, they waited till the last three months to give us another option for President.

  28. What can be done that can’t be undone? They will control the house, senate, president and Supreme Court. Can’t they just sign an order and undo anything that’s been done to stop him?

Like others have said, seems way to late to do anything, but at this point does it matter?

  29. Oh yeah lets start doing things now. Not for the last four years…not when his campaign was crap. Lets start now when its too late. Democrats are shockingly bad at this

  30. Sense of urgency should have started in 2020 to prosecute trump for the coup.

  31. Like WHAT?? there is no “proofing” it against anything when the next administration does not care about or acknowledge the law.

The _only_ permanent action Biden can take in his official duty to uphold the Constitution would instantly cause a civil war.

  32. He had his chance and blew it that’s why we’re here he decided to run again despite opposition and then had Kamala try to win over Republican “moderates” and look where we are now, absolutely fucked.

  33. The American people spoke in Russian and chose a dictatorship. Whatever you do, don’t stand too close to windows.

  34. The urgency should have prevented Trump from running in the first place. This is all a joke at this point.

  35. You can’t proof the system from someone who has no accountability in the eyes of the law or the courts.

We are about to reap the consequences from a decade of normalizing this fart in the shape of a man.

  36. Beyond judge appointments, there is little they can do, the goose is cooked already

  37. Always the democrats burden. Why shouldnt the GOP also be doing the same?

  38. Biden should actually give people Trump’O’nomics for 1 month, so that in January, there will be a mob requesting new elections.

Deploy the military deport illegals, denaturalize citizens, cut healthcare to everyone who can’t pay up, make every school private, jail employers of illegal immigrants, even if you just hire somebody to clean a pool.

Do all the stuff, Trump promised to do (but actually couldn’t be bothered with if it turns out to be hard, because now it’s 4 years of TV Drama and Golfing.. again)

  39. It’s a little late. Should have been a year 1 legislative priority to curb executive branch power. But no president wants to limit their own power.

  40. Then he has to use Tump v US to overturn Trump v US.

And never should have hired Garland.

  41. Still going with this take huh? Reddit is mentally insane. 😂
