Greece reacts handsomely to loss at Great Britain

Greece’s hoopsters avenged on Sunday their 73-72 loss to Great Britain in London three days earlier, winning 77-67 in Thessaloniki.

This was Greece’s fourth game in the Eurobasket 2025 qualifiers, with the hosts rising to a 3-1 record.

This time, strengthened by three Euroleague players who had not played in London on Thursday, Greece was dominant in the game and deservedly won.

The players of coach Vassilis Spanoulis were always on top and fended off a British challenge midway through the second half to win comfortably in the end at the PAOK Sports Arena.

The result means Greece needs one win out of its two remaining games against the Czech Republic (away) and the Netherlands (at home) in February to clinch its place in the tournament’s finals.
