So the reason Twitter didn’t collapse when that moron fired everyone who wasn’t an H1-B is because a) he can overwork those H1-Bs with the threat of deportation and b) Twitter was ridiculously overbuilt, so even though it’s constantly breaking there’s so much of it to break it’ll be a while before it starts to collapse from it’s own “technical debt”.

   The United States isn’t like that, so yeah, if Musk (or more likely President Vance) tries that we’ll have a great depression on our hands.

4. DOGE itself will have no power itself as it will be an advisory committee. It’s head in a House subcommittee will be Marjorie Taylor Greene. She isn’t going to get anything done and if she does some work I don’t think they’ll get votes to do anything crazy.

5. It’s a billionaire literally influencing the US government in broad daylight. Why are Americans okay with this?

   After Trump’s first term, they all of a sudden thought, “you know what??? Let’s delete the US Government services all in one go and see what happens…”

   Like… the sudden united front to dismantle government movement just popped out of nowhere… and Americans are okay with it…

6. Leon has had a free ride from the US Govt that has translated to billions of dollars in his pocket. That doesn’t qualify him for anything other than taking money from the US Govt.

7. Republican politicians are the biggest Keynesians, they will never allow austerity when they are the incumbents. Imagine Millei levels of poverty increases in 2026, at the orders of a couple unelected oligarchs? You want to run on that?
