Yea this kinda defies military logic…i will reserve some doubts
When you realize how poorly trained, and poorly equipped Russian troops are, and compounded by how little their commanders care for them, it all a sudden makes sense why this is a possibility.
These numbers seem crazy, but if casualties were roughly equal, you’d expect Russia to have won already. And if the ratio was against Ukraine, the Ukranians would have give up a long time ago. The fact that the Ukranians are on defense and the defense lines barely move over time, suggests that a 7 to 1 ratio is possible.
I call bullshit.
Probably a propaganda number since it’s directly from the Ukrainian military but I honestly don’t doubt that it’s lopsided as fuck. The Russian military has been throwing everything there and not giving one single flying fuck about casualties.
This loss ratio isn’t surprising. In World War II, the Russians did meat assaults using blocking troops in much the same way they do now. Russian casualties were far higher than Axis casualties then. Germany had about 3,000,000 dead on all fronts. Russia had 27,000,000 dead, a more than 9 to 1 ratio. If anything, Russia’s loss ratio is quite a bit higher than 7 to 1.
