U.N. plastic pollution talks in Busan seek last-chance deal to curb waste

SEOUL — Delegates from around the world are convening this week in the South Korean coastal city of Busan for the last meeting tasked with agreeing to a binding international instrument to cut plastic pollution, including in marine environments.

The talks are a reflection of growing alarm around the world over the plastic waste filling landfills, gutters, beachfronts and oceans.
