  1. Pamela Hayden:

    >“How many actors can say they’ve worked on a show for 35 years straight? That alone is amazing. But it was time for me to devote my time to other creative endeavors that I have, like filmmaking. It was a tough decision, but I feel like it was the right one.”

    >“It’s just not like anything I’ve ever worked on. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime job on a once-in-a-lifetime show. But being an actor, I think you’re kind of used to taking risks. That’s the kind of person I am. I’m not about playing things safe. And there were other things I wanted to do. I think you throw it against the wall and see what sticks.”

    >“Everybody has their own favorite. What I liked about Milhouse is even though he gets kicked around, he always feels like tomorrow’s going to be a better day. Whether it is or not. And I think that’s great. It’s a good analogy for life.”

  2. I remember Kathy Najimi saying by the end of King of the Hill, she was making $6 million per year and only working around an hour a week from her home recording booth. How much time was voicing Milhouse really taking?

  3. Hopefully they kill him off like they did with Mrs Flanders (I think that’s right). It would be fun to see all the characters die off as they quit or pass away in real life.

  4. I’m sure there is enough audio, they could all retire, license out their voices for 1/4 their yearly pay every year and the show could continue with AI while all the actors still make some money without even working.

  5. I hope that announcing her departure will get her noticed.  Jumping without knowing where you’ll land can definitely be scary

  6. 35yrs ago they didn’t even think this show would last beyond the pilot episodes so I’d say that’s a pretty damn good career she’s had.

  7. I will never understand this decision but hey good for her for doing what she wants. People would kill to be in her position. A nice, stable gig with minimum effort .

  8. “The voice actor of a beloved character has left the show!”
“Beloved character my ass, it’s probably Millhouse.”

  9. Good for her. I wish Groening would get the memo and finally retire the show. It’s time.
