Seth Meyers Goes Quiet as Ex-NBC Anchor Torches Democrats for ‘Insulting’ the Working Class

“It is tough love time for the Democratic Party. I think it needs to be stripped down and rebuilt.”

Here's how they alienated working-class voters, according to Brian Williams:

  1. Ignoring Rising Costs: "A 12-pack of Bounty [paper towels] is $40. Rich folks don't feel that. Poor folks already switched to Sparkle during the COVID lockdown."

  2. Touting Stock Market Success While Ignoring Economic Hardship for Regular People: "I think telling them that the Nasdaq is gangbusters is further insulting. It's insulting."

  3. Downplaying Border Issues: "I think the biggest unforced error of the Biden administration by far was the border…. To tell people it's not a problem is insulting."

  4. Providing Benefits to Migrants While Ignoring Citizens: "For the working class to see incoming migrants getting welcome bags, debit cards, and motel rooms is probably insulting as well."

  5. Failing to Address Biden's Cognitive Decline: "I want to know who thought it was a good idea that Joe Biden stand for another four years at 80 years of age and 37% popularity."

Later he said the Democrats were interested in winning the argument rather than winning the election

  1. 5m people went missing from 2020. 4.2m were likely Democrat voters.

Unless you’re going to make the frankly ridiculous proposal that they were just *ever so excited to vote for Joe Biden* then something’s rotten in Denmark.

We had 7 hour wait times to vote in swing states.

What’s more likely, 5m people beat down the doors to vote for Biden but just weren’t feeling it for Kamala,

Or the GOP did what they *always do* and shut down polling locations and sent too few or broken machines in blue districts?

It doesn’t matter if people agree with us *if they can’t vote!*

  2. It’s true, but we don’t need Bounty paper towels. This poor person uses a dish rag instead of paper towels and Cracker Barrel loses to the $5 meal at a burger joint when I can’t eat at home.

This ex-NBC anchor is out of touch.

That said, he is right on principle.

  3. One thing I will add is when Harris was asked what she would’ve done differently, she responded with she wouldn’t do anything different. In a ton of voter’s eyes, this is the wrong answer.

For Conservatives, they felt that unemployment, eviction moratoriums, and stimulus checks went on way too long, well into when the country already recovered. They also looked at the Inflation Reduction Act as inflationary, causing things like electric cars, HVAC equipment and solar to have their prices continue to soar.

For moderates and Democrats, price fixing and gouging was left unchecked. Private equity was left unchecked and able to buy a quarter of all houses sold, driving up home prices and rent for working class Americans.

Hindsight is a powerful thing. She should’ve accepted that the situation could’ve been handled differently, given what she knows now. Saying that she wouldn’t have done anything different shows that she is not capable of being wrong and adjusting to changing circumstances.

  4. Yep, have fun with Trumpiland then and try to don’t spill it over to other countries economies

  5. forgot to mention the endless funding of wars (some people call it genocide)

  6. Keep telling yourself that. Meanwhile, more than half the people that bother to vote are too fucking stupid to hold their breath underwater.

  7. Democrat Town Hall, Early 2024:

Democrat Leader: “We’ll talk about the attack on unions and the skyrocketing insurance costs in a while but first…let’s talk about Trans Story Time for kids and the assault on the LGBTQIA Community…”

  8. This is a big part of the problem on the left. Getting news solely from comedians.

  9. It’s ridiculous that dems win all the policy arguments and yet have no media apparatus to message their views. The right have created a pod to television political media that’s going to be incredibly difficult to catch up to

  10. Democratic messaging has been piss poor for years now.

70% of Americans have no real stake in the stock market and don’t give a shit how it performs if they are having to use credit cards to get by.

One side offered simple solutions (deporting illegals, cutting spending, increasing gov efficiency, tariffs, ect) that while we can argue if they would be effective or not, people believe they are.

The other side said the economy was doing great and then used every coded word we’ve heard over the last 30 years, indicating that the working class was about to take it from behind with no lube.

That’s not even getting into the other messaging problems they have dealing with race and gender issues or LGBT.

  11. Wow I am shocked to see some open-minded debate going on in this post rather than millions of ‘ALL TRUMP VOTERS ARE HORRIBLE RACIST PEOPLE WHO WANT GAYS IN CONCENTRATION CAMPS’ – or something along those lines.

  12. Now these establishment pieces of sh*t have to pretend like they care about the working class. Don’t fall for it. Dem exit 100%. And Seth Meyers still tries to blame messaging lol. He’s really showing you why he has that job in the first place. Such boot licking trash.

  13. > Ignoring Rising Costs

However, making the argument that paper towels are super expensive implies that the opposing party can do something about that. They can’t. ***That’s the point***. So, how do you educate people into understanding this? Mind you, Republicans don’t give two shits about educating people. It’s easier to lie to people with sound bites.

    > Touting Stock Market Success

You mean just like Trump did during his Presidency and during all the rallies he had since then and during this campaign?

    > Downplaying Border Issues

On this one, I agree. Biden should have pushed harder for a border deal earlier in his Presidency even when his first attempt failed.

    > Providing Benefits to Migrants While Ignoring Citizens

The optics are bad, I agree. However, there is an argument for streamlining immigration and that’s what those things are.

    > Failing to Address Biden’s Cognitive Decline: “I want to know who thought it was a good idea that Joe Biden stand for another four years at 80 years of age and 37% popularity.”

Who is going to tell the sitting President that he’s too old to run *especially when his opposition is the same damn age?!* I wish that Biden had kept his promise and chosen not to try to run for re-election. I wish that more adults, including his wife, had told him that he’s not fit to run a second time. However, it is absolutely critical to point out that ultimately the decision rested with Biden and no one else.

    > Later he said the Democrats were interested in winning the argument rather than winning the election

So, the solution is to lie to people like Trump did?

  14. This is a day late and a dollar short. We tried to tell you all of this but we were silenced, shadow banned, and called every vile thing you could think of.

You lied to the American people about how good everything was and how terrible things would be if Trump was elected. You worked these people into such a frenzy that some have chosen to end their lives because of the lies you told.

These self righteous pundits need to be held accountable for the harm they have caused.
