  2. The society is rotten, in almost every country.

    When the prevailing mindset is “we re pissed at the status quo, we want change, and we don’t really care what this change will be”, there is something really wrong with how people think.

    If they can’t grasp that it can always get worse, or the concept of the lesser evil, or that there are some ideological standards (e.g. being a fascism apologist should be a disqualifying factor) above “voting for the anti-establishment candidate”, Western democracy cannot function.

    There’s a voter mindset problem. A huge one.

  3. Morons vote for morons. If we survive this worldwide rise of anti-intellectualism and fascism, the lesson to be learned is that – along with qualilty of life – education is the base for democracy and a functioning society.

    Teachers must be paid the highest salaries and must be held to the highest standards, e.g. as Finland is doing it.
