I spent less in Berlin than a trip up to Manchester. This country is f*cked.
£500 a night?
I’m from the St Ives area and there’s no way it’s worth that. Especially in the summer when it’s packed with tourists.
you’re paying £500 a night, but the seagulls and Tesco meal deals remind you that you never really left home
Loads of better places in Cornwall, and you can always visit st Ives as a day trip.
She has a point. I saw a week in a caravan in Skegness advertised for the same price as we paid for four of us at an all-inclusive in Madeira. Both in August.
Now, I’ve never been to Skegness, but something tells me it isn’t going to be as nice as Madeira and certainly not worth almost £3000 for a week.
Even trying to book a two day / one night spa retreat easily creeps into £500-£600 and I spent less than that on seven nights in Budapest during the peak of summer. Four star hotel.
How is she making it £500 a night? The only way I could get booking websites to go that expensive was to make it two adults and six kids in the middle of the summer holidays.
I stayed in a 9k a week st Ives rental, for two weeks. I didn’t rent it, just turned up. Was it worth just under 1300 a night? Not really. I also stayed at another 9k a week rental which was also a very nice property but not really VFM when you still got woken up by seagulls, you got the same weather as everyone else that day and you still went to the same beaches. Some nice restaurants there though. My mate ended up buying a house there. I much prefer the area to Padstow.
