  1. Total repudiation of NAFTA, ideology undergirding it

  2. That’s the spirit! Unlike Trudeau calling and begging/lying

  3. Of course they will. Anyone will hit back. If you kick someone be ready to get hit back. Who didn’t see this coming? (Far too many people apparently)

  4. This is like a mouse biting the balls of a tiger thinking any positive outcome will come out of it.

Pay close attention how Mexico, instead of addressing the organized crime problem, chooses to retaliate with tarifs.

It is unbelievable the extent the Mexican government will go to protect the organized crime.

  5. I remember in 2019 I tried to buy my wife some Savage x Rihanna clothes and at checkout there was a little note beside of a random +$5 charge that said something along the lines of “because of Donald Trump’s tariffs on China we are charging you more”.

I emptied my shopping cart and my wife and I agreed to never buy from this brand again.

Consumers have the power in these situations. When corporations are exploiting cheap/slave labor to increase profits and then have the audacity to pass on increased costs to consumers DO NOT BUY THE FUCKING PRODUCT.

  6. Trump is so stupid, trying to protect American jobs.

He should be more like Bill Clinton and just let American job go.

Besides, we have robots. And it’s not like Americans deserve jobs.

Remember, Americans stole this land from the Natives.

Americans should LEAVE this nation NOW.

  7. Good for her! Let’s see how long his tariffs last if automakers start laying off people because no one can afford to buy their cars.

  8. Canada should do it on US made cars. Lots of other countries are willing to step in.

  9. And this is how it goes. Anyone who thought this was a good idea is not very smart. We did it a hundred years ago (look up Smoot Hawley tariffs) and it is always a tit for tat game. We do a tariff on them, then they do a tariff on us. Just wait until special interests get involved. Literally third grade stuff here. Maybe if we built up American manufacturing first, then did some tariffs it would work. The conservatives in this country would never look that far down the road, there is way too many culture wars to fight. We have to regulate transgenders, that is the most important thing for government to do 🤡

  10. I’ve already been priced out of avacados. What else does Mexico export that I would miss?

  11. Good! Hopefully they’re high, and they’re painful. I don’t want any country taking our bullshit sitting down.

  12. This threat/counter threat paradigm was and is very predictable. The big problem with it is that it sets up political conditions in all countries involved making it impossible for the elected leadership to reconsider, or even negotiate. Most of the time entering into effective negotiations requires a change of leadership from at least one of the nations involved.

So we can all probably expect this to run its course until 2029. Fabulous.
