Fiancé just sent me a picture of her work office Christmas decorations. I think it’s the most depressing thing I’ve ever seen.

  1. If you gonna put up a tree like that !? Just don’t bother 😆

  2. The most depressing thing is that it’s not sodding December! Grinds my gears!

  3. you’re right it is pretty depressing

also technically speaking it’s fiancée if she’s a female (not to be that person but it bothers me if i dont say anything sorry)

  4. Less is more? We have a similar sized thing but a real tree (more like a small shrub). Had it 3 years. Comes in for Christmas and we decorate it. Rest of the year lives on the balcony quite happily and cared for. Being small is easily manegable and beats the ‘throw away culture’ of one use Xmas trees.

  5. What’s even more depressing is that that tree being fibre optic it probably cost the office’s entire Xmas budget

  6. I have the same tree in my flat, and 3 little Christmas windowsill ornaments lol. I spend the festivities mainly at my parents’ so I don’t bother jazzing my place up too much

  7. We’re not allowed Christmas decorations in our office because last year someone joked that they could be offensive to non Christians and for some reason the company took that seriously and banned them entirely.

  8. I’m sure, when it’s December, more effort will go in to it.

  9. Mines missing its stand, has no decorations and is probably 20 years old (found it in a random box) I stuck it in the little circle cut out for cables on my desk.

  10. That would be pretty jovial for an NHS back office

  11. The lights look pretty cool at least. At my work we just had someone’s nan’s old fake tree in a corner of the workshop with no decorations whatsoever. Eventually we nabbed some tinsel from the office, along with a stuffed Tigger dressed as an angel that we put on the top. Then we jazzed it up with some jubilee clips.

  12. standard HR checkbox for ’employee wellbeing’, HR manager’s getting a bonus this year

  13. Decorations up before December 1st, yes that’s certainly depressing.
