More unidentified drones spotted over three US air bases in UK

    A number of drones have again been spotted flying near US Air Force bases in Britain.

    The US Air Force said it was monitoring airspace over RAF Lakenheath and RAF Mildenhall, in Suffolk, and RAF Feltwell, in Norfolk, after unidentified drones were seen overnight.

    The sightings come after “small unmanned aerial systems” were observed over the bases last week.

    A mystery drone was also seen following HMS Queen Elizabeth, the British aircraft carrier, as it entered the port of Hamburg, in Germany, on Friday.

    In a statement, a spokesman for the US Air Force in Europe said:“We can confirm there were sightings yesterday [Monday] during night-time hours and can only confirm that the number fluctuated and varied between the bases over the night.

    “Since Nov 20, there has been no impact to residents or infrastructure, and they have not been identified as hostile. However, they are still continuously being monitored to ensure the safety and security of the installations.”

    The Royal Air Force has been approached for comment.

  4. I mean it could be russians desperate to know what US planes look like.

    Or it could be youtubers desperate for views.

    And I think it’s safe to say the russians already know.

  5. I get theres a risk to the public and environment re falling debris and ammo but why would you not just shoot them down? Its either dickheads live streaming or foreign bad actors. Either way, sending a clear message that you will actively engage their low cost disruption attempts would be better than doing nothing.

  6. So why aren’t they being shot down. Or using other drones to knock them out the sky. Or is it just a load of Bollocks

  9. Highly doubt they’re adversary hardware.

    Consumer drones would’ve been shot down. Anything more advanced or military grade wouldn’t be using lights… they’d be blacked out and use some form of stealth technology.
