Ghana grants citizenship to 500 people as part of ‘Year of Return’ • FRANCE 24 English

Ghana has welcomed more than 500 people from the diaspora who have returned to Africa to take up Ghanaian citizenship. The latest batch of new citizens is the third since 2019 when Ghana launched its ‘Year of Return’ programme aiming to open the country up to African-Americans and descendants of slaves taken out of Africa who want to return.

  11. 524 was the Total number of Citizenships granted just yesterday, but the Grand Total number of Citizenships granted since 2019 is Over 1,000.
    Return back to your root, Diasporas.

I had a dream that a child born to a Ghanaian man and African American woman becomes Ghana president one day and becomes one of the most powerful leaders Africa and Ghana has ever had and makes a big impact I have a feeling that this is meant for a reason and the time was right to call the diaspora home even though Ghana needs lots of work something big is coming

Point of correction they are not descendants of slaves these are our own people doesn't matter which country they come from they are Africans and were never slaves but were enslaved against their will. So they are enslaved African American descendants not slaves please know how to use your words.. They are our own people they are not slaves …

This is the beginning of the end for Ghana they would turn Ghana into a Chicago, Baltimore, Jackson with violence and everything that is going horribly wrong in their neighborhoods in the United States,African countries should never forget about the atrocities committed by black Americans in Liberia
