2. There’s got to be a LOT more to this. The mother obviously still lives with her parents and for them not to notice a baby in the house they themselves have to be pretty oblivious to what goes on in the home. I dunno, people will be really REALLY quick to condemn the mother in the court of public opinion for this, and yes she’s culpable, but a LOT of really shitty pieces have to come together to form this puzzle.

   EDIT: Having read the context clues I retract my opinion she lived with her parents. I made that conjecture based on the line “hid from her siblings” however I was not aware the mother had other children.

   EDIT 2: Specifically for the benefit of u/Hot-Plate-3704 who needs clarification. I’m not defending her, I’m merely saying this can’t just be a simple case of somebody taking a pregnancy test and saying, “What am I going to do with this one? A fuck it I’ll lob it under the bed.”

8. What the actual fug did I just read? I don’t understand this at all. All these cases of child cruelty and neglect…if you don’t want the child why not just give it up for adoption? Why not hand it to the authorities and say you want to give up your parental rights?
