Thousands of people from Africa and Arab countries are approaching the Polish border from Ukraine. Many of them go towards the border crossing in Medyka. Ukrainian services are trying to separate the walking groups, and are additionally guarded by soldiers. Inhabitants of the border towns on the Ukrainian side with whom we are talking suggest that they may be refugees transferred by the Belarusian services to destabilize the situation on the Polish-Ukrainian border.
As you cross the border in Medyka towards Ukraine, you will notice a crowd standing between the fences. They are people from outside the European Union and Europe. The people standing here were divided into smaller groups, separated also by Polish border guards.
The scale of this phenomenon is clearly visible on the Ukrainian side, where there is a separate queue for people from outside the EU. Some of them do not have passports and are returned. As Ukrainian soldiers explain, the groups are divided into smaller and separated in order to better manage the traffic and ensure greater security. Both Polish and Ukrainian border guards emphasize that some of the people who are now trying to cross the border in Medyka, wanted to cross the Polish-Belarusian border a few months ago.
