
Senior Minister Ly Thuch of Cambodia met with Norway’s Deputy Foreign Minister Andreas Motzfeldt Kravik during the Siem Reap-Angkor Summit on a Mine-Free World. The bilateral discussion underscored Norway’s significant contributions to humanitarian mine action in Cambodia since 1992.
Minister Thuch, who also serves as President of the Ottawa Convention 2024, expressed gratitude for Norway’s ongoing support, particularly its role in Cambodia’s leadership of the Convention and the success of the Summit. He emphasized the continued need for Norway’s assistance through the Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) program.
Deputy Minister Kravik commended Cambodia’s achievements in mine clearance and its efforts under the Ottawa Convention. The meeting reaffirmed the countries’ commitment to a mine-free world and highlighted their collaboration in addressing the global challenge of landmine clearance.
The Siem Reap Summit brought together international leaders to advance progress toward eradicating landmines worldwide.
