I’d say Hooray except for the dread of what will actually happen: they’ll get nicked or chucked in the Taff or used to play chicken with the traffic. Someone will get run over by a police car by accident and a street will burn.
I thought they are banned in Wales? Maybe I’m wrong?
Poor idea …. Someone will make a mint from it though …
I’ve used these in Liverpool quite a bit they work well. Good in cities that aren’t that big and easy to navigate.
I love that the Welsh Govt. and councils are finally getting on board with scooters but don’t like how it’s a private company rental system.
Why not let private citizens own their own means of transport without having to rent on a £/time basis.
Nextbike Cardiff was cancelled due to theft, we can’t have nice things.
Cardiff is the only city in UK to have the public bike scheme removed due to vandalism and theft.
I can’t see this working out well.
That’s the worst possible idea 🤦🏻♂️ We can’t have nice things because our youth will wreck, steal, abuse, ride them like t**ts and dump them…… Sadly, the money would be better spent on Domestic Abuse and Teenage Support facilities 👍🏻
I live in Cardiff and it’s amazing, but I’m not sure the good townspeople can be trusted with a scooter scheme. Mainly down to the yearly “wanging of the next bikes into the river” celebrations in the summer.

> Those caught on e-scooters will be put to death publically by burning at the stake in Roath. These public events will be announced via carrier pigeon scheme funded by the Welsh government, to which they have received criticism from drivers over concerns the pigeons will leave excessive droppings on their cars.
> Those who possess e-scooters with intent to distribute will have all males in their family line castrated.
> All confiscated e-scooters will be thrown into the sea. A move criticised by beach goers and climate activists.
