  1. Sweltering workers and residents have been spared mass blackouts after being asked to go easy on air-conditioning and turn off lights and appliances during a heatwave.

The energy regulator forecasted a shortfall in electricity supplies in NSW between 3.30pm and 5pm on Wednesday brought on by high demand and outages at key coal-fired power plants.

Hundreds of thousands of public servants across the state were asked to lift thermostat settings on air-conditioners and take other energy-saving measures.

  2. Jeez. Imagine if we had distributed small/medium-and large scale renewables and storage to dynamically meet demand.

Oh wait nope the opposition want centralised and expensive nuclear in about 20 years.
