  1. Jesus…. And it’s only just arrived now?

No wonder there’s been so many complaints about Translink!

  2. I was on the first train to depart from Belfast Grand Central Station, the 08:05 Enterprise service to Dublin Connolly on Sunday, 13 October 2024. I travelled as far as Lisburn and returned on the first train to arrive at the new station, the 08:30 Northern Ireland Railways service from Portadown, arriving at Grand Central Station at 09:15. This train had many dignitaries onboard, including the Minister for Infrastructure, John O’Dowd. After the train arrived, an inauguration ceremony took place at the station.

The station serves as an integrated transport hub for the city and the terminus for the cross-border Enterprise service to Dublin and all Northern Ireland Railways services. I particularly enjoyed the spacious environment, high ceilings, and friendly staff. Bus and coach services had been serving the station from 8 October.

I have a YouTube video [1] of the journeys on the first trains and the inauguration ceremony.
