And there was news article yesterday about four Russian fighter jets violating Swedish airspace east of Gotland. Great timing, guys.
Sweden and Finland abandoned “no-aligned in peace, neutral in conflict” in 1994 and 1995. Why is this so hard for people in other countries to understand?? Sweden and Finland are not just part of JEF and EI2 but also full members of NATO response forces.
They are not “neutral”. Stop with this bs.
The NATO conversation should be had in Austria, Ireland and Switzerland too. We’ve apparently just discovered that Switzerland’s neutrality has been a joke, and they already invest enough in the military to meet requirements. Ireland is incapable of defending itself.

I’m getting kinda tired of these talks and “considerations” which have been ongoing since 2014.
At this point a new article like this pops up every week, yet it seems like no progress is being made. Just career politicians being invited to sit in meetings where obvious is stated i.e russia is condemned for being naughty.
I feel like if Russia flies iskander missiles to the center of Helsinki, the best the best the international community could do is condemn russia yet again for being naughty, maybe this time with “strong words”, and if we’re lucky, eiffel tower would be lighted in colors of the Finnish flag.
Finland’s been playing with double cards for decades, being politically aligned mostly with the West, while maintaining discourse with Russia and trying not to provoke it. Now that Russia’s bluff has been called and it’s become crystal clear that the county is ruled by an imperialist madman who can’t be reasoned with, Finland is forced to move it’s stance toward a military alliance.
As an American combat veteran, I am in favor of European countries taking the initiative for defending their lands. It is time to be less reliance to NATO or the USA to defend Europe and be proactive when the dangerous 🐻 is on the losse in the east
