  1. A breakdown of where my income from my PhD stipend goes each month. Inspired by the post earlier today I wanted to see how my spending would shake out presented like this.

    I’ve put in some rough estimates based on the last few months of where my “wants” spending goes, but those aren’t as strictly budgeted as the chart suggests.

    The PhD stipend has its benefits (tax free!) as well as its drawbacks (close to minimum wage or less even, no pension contributions). I supplement with intermittent teaching work which is available during term time, which I have averaged out across 12 months based on whats usually available.

  3. What are these charts called? I want to make one for work but have no clue what they’re called.

  4. I’d be interested to know what your living arrangement looks like.

    Do you share a room? I haven’t had my own bedroom for that low of rent since like 2009 or so.

  5. Finally… a sane one (sort of, doing a PhD does have a tendency to cause nervous break-downs).
