I know that it is still far way before they can join but I have to express my concerns about the EU expanding. At this time it’s already a pain to get all the member states behind something. But the more countries we add the harder it will be.
At the same time I don’t want to give up veto power for a majority rules kind of idea. That will make it hard for smaller countries to voice their concerns. You just need to please France + Germany + Italy + Spain. Countries with less than 10 million inhabitants have practically no power then.
