America is tipping towards a flashpoint of endemic violence that will last for a very long time. The right is really looking forward to “Take America Back”, and they have a whole bespoke news bubble that lets them see themselves as the victim, no matter what happens, like the Jan 6th coup attempt.
Put into power weak men, jokers, cranks. Worse, charlatans, with some gift of gab, you run a very serious risk of losing it all. Including your future with no way to restore what rightfully belongs to you.
Really good is a bit much.
Really good in comparison? Sure, yeah.
In reality, just an exceptable option.
I’m really starting to think I just don’t understand what people give a shit about. I have a lot of family in the DC area and I remember years ago when Marion Barry got caught smoking crack and went to jail then got released and ran for mayor again and won we all used to think it was just crazy. But now they vote for Trump and it’s not crazy to them. Now I just wonder what they thought was crazy about it then.
Had the Democratic Party actually spent time promoting this “Really Good Option” (which… we won’t even get into), perhaps they would have won. But instead they fell into Conservative trap of constantly talking about abortions and LGBT (both a small percentage of America) rather than talking about it *and* things the majority of Americans care about, ie the economy.
Note: yes, apparently 30% (or something like that) of American women have had an abortion, but it’s an extremely taboo support that they shouldn’t have constantly harped on. Yes, help women have control of their own body, but don’t make it your campaign tentpole, especially since Conservatives view it as a religious concern (read: will never agree with it).
So this is political humor?
If you had put up a former DA presidential pick and a Midwestern football coach who served in the military for VP on a ticket in the 90s, it would have been a republican wet dream.
30 years later, they’re the “socialist libs”
This country has lost what little mind I thought it had left.
America doesn’t do “really good options” in fact most places do not have a good option. It’s like the South Park episode of voting between a turd sandwich or douche. They both suck just one sucks less. In the case of Kamala vs Trump, Kamala sucked ass ran a terrible campaign and was basically just Biden but young. Though still a much much better choice than Trump, she still sucked.
