There will be a day soon when the operator flies a camouflaged drone to a location, sits it down alongside a road, and the drone will quietly sit there, completely motionless, in low power, camera-only, non-transmitting mode, using a stored profiles list of qualifying vehicles to decide which one to finally attack after ignoring countless others that have passed. They’ll be specialist drones – frag types for transports and HEAT types for armor. Machine-learning enabled munitions is going to be terrifying.
