Found in front of a zebra crossing on both sides facing the traffic.
It blinks with white and blue lights randomly.

  1. I think there’s a Lähitapiola ad for it. It helps drivers see pedestrians better.

  2. It just helps drivers notice when people are crossing

  3. They’re motion activated to alert drivers of crossing pedestrians.

  4. I’ve seen some in Vantaa which didn’t seem connected to people crossing. Although it’s a good device in darker areas. But didn’t like that it flashed blue lights that should be reserved to emergency vehicles.

  5. It’s there so drivers could focus on the bright blinking light instead of the pedestrians crossing the road without reflectors and on black clothes…

  6. These are fucking annoying. You are driving and minding your own business when suddenly a blue and white light blind you.

    Police?
    Ambulance?
    Someone flashing their headlights?
    A speed camera?

No, it was some useless metal pole randomly flashing sun caliber LEDs.

Oh, now I drove over someone as I was looking at my mirrors trying to figure out what the flashing lights were..

  7. Those are Finnish candy canes! You should go lick one of them, especially in winter. They’re extra tasty when it’s -20 out.

  8. Three scewered drink cans from last nights bender
