Because the rebels(green) are not really better.. the only good thing about them is, that they are enemies of russia.
The SDF(yellow) atleast wants to create a democratic syria (on paper, who knows if thats true)

too late when the entire front is collapsing ,and all rebel groups are advancing
even the Kurdish SDF are now advancing North of Aleppo , while the Islamist HTS and the Turkish backed SNA are already moving towards Hama
