It was time to get real decades ago, but all we get is more blather about what needs to be done.
Reducing, phasing out, eliminate, and the list goes on. The choice of words wouldn’t matter if we don’t act on those words.
I cannot control politicians, industry or billionaires. But I have chipped away at my own 30 tons of CO2. Gardening, planting trees, dramatically reducing the energy I use, and heating with a rocket mass heater. No sacrifice – everything is about making a better life AND it happens to chip away at my CO2. I think I am now in the space of chipping away CO2 for others.
Hate to sound like a doomer, but unless humanity finds a cheaper, greener alternative to fossil fuels within a span of a few months, humanity will continue to burn fossil fuels even when our environment gets to the point where it’s completely destroyed. We’re prisoners of our creation that is slowly killing us and it might be too late to fight back.
