What I’m seeing is that while people are frustrated by certain aspects of immigration here, that does not mean they want racist rhetoric that blames the immigrants themselves. The far right bile doesn’t offer the answers people expect from the issues they face, and they can see through the hatred of the most extreme options.
There’s a lad my Da knows who proudly told him that he voted for the National Party and wrote a note about the corrupt government on the back of the ballot. My Da told him that’ll possibly void his vote and he refused to believe it.
