Probably a stupid question but how does this definition of first, second house work?
If I bought a house in the past and sold that. Is my new house a first or second?

Weird this is being blocked, the tax benefits for your first house have now been gutted in most (all?) the regions. You’re giving benefits to people buying up multiple properties in a market that’s heavily inflating. Is it just VLD blocking this?

Abolish it and replace it with a system where people get this benefit only if they buy an non-newly built investment property and renovate it within 2 years to the necessary EPB standards for “ingrijpende renovaties”.
For once they’re doing something useful. Hooray! Now back off under de kiesdrempel u go.
