Not sure about the others but for the UK it’s basically a jobs map. Manchester, Reading, London, Cambridge, Leeds etc The Shires are all older.
Riding for a United Ireland
Montenegro and N Macedonia joined the EU ? Must’ve missed the news
Spain surprising, though Madrid & Catalunya were a bit more balanced with lots of immigration. And would have thought Southern Italy was older on average. East Germany just brutal though
That border between Poland and Germany must be quite something to behold.

As someone who has lived their entire life in smaller towns and villages, I’ve never felt the massive draw to the city and the bigger the city, the less appealing it’s seemed.
Hm we are younger than I thought. Also poorest region(northeast) is the youngest.
East Jutland here. Ooh I’m so young and vibrant [flex]
“Areas aging” like in Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, and Greece is the result of young people moving to different countries.
Its the same with the eastern part of Germany. About 1.5 Mio people left (out of 16 Mio) during the last 30 years to get a job in the western parts. Many of the remaining people have very strong opinions against migrants… what an irony…
Laughs in Südtirol
Why east germany SIVIET WHAT DID YA DO
+ poland is full of young pensioners
Poland: breeding like rabbits….
Green island
Central and NE Scotland…. nice work.
Shows you the great success of reintegrating east-germany into the west after 1990 if still most young people have to leave.
Oh, look, I can see my house from here!
Place a foreign population % on the top of this one.
Europe is finished.
And with a history like yours, it’s very deserved.
You know how we can assume it’s by nature’s own design that your people dwindle into nothingness? You are the harbingers of your own destruction.
The rest of the world could attack you; invade your lands; butcher you by the millions.
But we could never convince you to give away your own land, to stop giving birth to your own people… to walk to your own extinction.
You did that.
As someone who is 24 and moved to Poland from Canada I can say it’s really nice to be around other young Polish people. So many others have returned too. I wasn’t the first one to return either. My best friend moved first, me second and our third friend plans on moving early next year! It’s truly a great time to be in Poland!
Didn’t expect the Netherlands to be so relatively young
How come Norway and Sweden are so young? With a high life expectancy and low birth rate they should be like the other shouldn’t they, or I’m probably missing something.
see, without the east even our fertility rate would be higher…
Macedonia, what are you doing?
It’s amazing that you can still see division between east and west Germany on so many maps.
