Getting our Christmas tree and having a big old tidy this morning. This afternoon is for winding down and watching the Goblet of Fire (my partner and I are doing a rewatch of all of the HP films leading up to Christmas)

i’m considering doing some festive activities like going shop and saying “wow christmas lights have gotten expensive” and going home instead
Currently cleaning the kitchen and just put second load of washing in, soon to be making gingerbread whilst watching cheesy netflix Christmas film
Porridge, a cuppa and reading for an hour until the kids and wife wake up. Then we’re sticking on Carry on Doctor.
We’ve been working through the Carry On films for the last few weeks. The kids are really enjoying them.
Costco trip later for diesel and dishwasher tablets. Will no doubt get a slice of pizza there for lunch.
Wife has roped the MIL into helping put the decs up this year, so I’m heading to the gym this morning (then sneaking to the shops for the wife’s presents).
Still at work. Sweltering in a room that apparently contains no heating system but is hotter than the surface of the Sun.
Ten hours in, ready for home
Going to read for at least 30 minutes before crawling out of bed to make my second cup of tea.
Picked up a nasty cold from work and it’s come out full force this morning so I think today is a rest day. Got the tree decorated yesterday, planted some of my bulbs and did some washing so I don’t feel quite as bad for having today off.
Trying to convince my 4 year old she can’t open every single door on her toy advent calendar. We have been arguing about it since way too early this morning!
Pretending to be productive. Took the dog for a walk, but mostly so I could blame him for me not getting anything done today.
I finished my Christmas shopping last night (Amazon plus only a couple of people to buy for) so I can bask in smugness for now. I need to go and buy food though so hoping to make it a quick trip.
We’re having the obligatory “I can’t believe it’s December already” comments all morning.

I’ve got bedroom furniture to build. My son wanted bunk beds and they’re getting built today. I’ve got that and a Kallax unit to build…
Up at 6am with a toddler who wanted to play with play doh more than stay in a nice warm bed. Dammit.
Still in bed, listening to podcasts about folk stories.
Big fall out yesterday over nothing, so hopefully a good night’s rest and the joint activity of putting up the Christmas decorations and a festive film will smooth things over.
Might even put on the Phil Spector Christmas record.
I’m working so no lazy time for me.
Cat decided to throw up all over the toilet seat overnight, so that was fun to wake up to. Oh well, at least it’s the first day of chocolate for breakfast…
I suspect today will mostly be split between cleaning and doing the work I didn’t manage to finish on Friday that needs to be done for tomorrow, which is very unexciting. Pub quiz tonight though so hopefully that makes up for it a bit! I’m also going to try and make a bit more of a dent in my Christmas shopping.

If I believed all that rubbishabout how people “should” behave and what the world “should”be like, I would be a broken hearted mess rn.
Luckily my cynicism means I am stronger than ever and the last woman standing. Strength is everything. People, no matter how much they live you and you love then, let alone the ones who don’t; backstab, betray and lie.
Honestly ascliched as it is, Whitney was right. If you love yourself you can no longer internalise other people’s bad behaviour and blame yourself. They did that mean thing because they are mean.
Off to work today after a lovely 3 days off, starting my 5 days on a Sunday is the most depressing thing.
Other half is making a beef wellington for tea for when I get home so it’s not all bad!

Last night’s washing is in the dryer; today’s first wash is on.
Cat to feed (was ‘cats’ until yesterday ☹️) then domestic duties and a bit of decorating until 4pm. Big footie game to watch, bit more domestics. Chill from about 8.30pm.
