  1. We should absolutely resist any effort to allow foreign interference in UK elections. British elections should be decided purely by people living in this country.

    Musk has been named by Trump as leading the Department of Government Efficiency. That makes him effectively a minister. Why should we accept foreign governments meddling in our elections?

  2. Well, it’s obvious by now he’s pretty much the dictionary page for ‘more money than sense’, and if he’s using it as the above pic suggests to try and get around campaign financing laws, it should be stopped.

  3. Monetary donations matter a lot less in the uk than they do in the states, that extra money won’t rlly help farage win approval of the populous, if he does win, (which is unlikely) then he will win bc the voters liked him *more than the opposition*.

  4. Won’t achieve much. The PPERA will whittle things down along with a variety of other things in regards to whether it is permissible in regards to donations and donaters. Even the British Branch of X cannot get around the strict finance laws in regards to politicians. It will be very closely watched and regulated. It is lot harder to buy power in the UK than it is in the USA. We take Democracy a lil more seriously, allegedly.

  5. It won’t make too much of a difference anyway but I’m absolutely against foreign interference as a rule. I can not stand Starmer and think he’s utterly incompetent at governing but it infuriates me when people like Elon insert themselves in. Its British affairs so leave it to us. Farage will continue to gain popularity as long as the uni-party continue to be hellbent on mass immigration policies.

  6. Whether or not you agree with his politics we all need to take a stand to avoid mega wealthy individuals, particularly from abroad, pumping in huge amounts of money to shape and influence our political sphere, in all guises.

    Ultimately Elon won’t be doing this for the good of the British people. He will have an agenda and he will want a return on his investment.

    Meanwhile, is nobody going to mention that abomination of a picture? What has that flap-jawed comic book antihero got to do with the Union Flag, or the (presumably British) soldiers depicted on it?

  8. Labour and the Tories have been receiving donations from foreigners for years. George Soros has been interfering in UK politics for ages. The only people our politicians don’t listen to are the British people.
