> Noting that the film “really means so much to so many people,” the star — who has partnered with PayPal — continues, “And not only during the holidays, but year-round. I have people come to me saying, ‘We watch Elf on July 4th. We just love it.’ ”
> “So that’s what’s so great about what I get to do,” adds Ferrell. “You never really have an idea of what’s going to land with people, and I love the fact that this movie continues to resonate in a way that’s pretty incredible.”
Multiple mundane news stories about Will Ferrell, each making a point of mentioning he’s teamed with paypal is corporate gossip hell
He’s a cool dude. 30+ years of being in the public eye and no one has a bad thing to say about him. Good guys do win.
This is one of those movies that I, for whatever reason, think I don’t like, but when I do watch it, I can’t turn it off. Watched it on Thanksgiving with my nieces and nephew for the first time and it was so much more enjoyable. What the hell is wrong with me??
Easily one of the top 10 moronic movies to ever hit a screen. Right up there with “Planes, Trains and Automobiles” and “Big”.
Elf has become a classic in our household. We are thankful for Will Ferrell – who has partnered with PayPal.
Will Ferrell should have been Pennywise in It.
A great movie. Probably the most recent Christmas movie I would consider a classic
I’ve seen it twice already this year. It just hits all the right notes
A Night at the Roxbury is my Elf.
He feels lucky because the royalties keep flowing into his bank account.
John favreau is who I thank
Hall of fame Christmas movie
Ferrell has a wonderful way of showing child like vulnerability and Elf was the perfect role to display this.
I consider myself a Rankin and Bass guru, obsessed with the holiday films. I cannot stand modern Christmas movies: it’s R&B, then Peanuts. Then Annabelle – and Elf. Something about Elf has a lot of the old school whimsical simplicity I want to see, even if made after 1990.
Not to mention the fact that Sonny Corleone survived the assassination attempt and is now in witness protection, pretending to be CEO of a children’s book company. Which makes Buddy an heir to the Corleone family.
My wife loves it. I don’t.
The residuals for that cast must be amazing. I still see *Elf* related paraphernalia 20+ years later.
As long as they don’t do a sequel to it. They will never capture the magic of the original. Like with anchor man, first movie was amazing and is still quoted to this day, but I never even hear anyone talking about the second one. It’s as if they don’t even consider it when talking about the original. Same with Zoolander 2, 10-20 years after the first, and just a nothing movie.
Was this crafted by his team to appear organic, while the real goal was simply to promote PayPal?
